The Peruvian Inca Orchid is a quick-witted, calm, and intelligent dog that is loyal and protective of its family. It is also good with children and other dogs, although it should be supervised around the former.

Caretakers need to dedicate time and patience into training their Peruvian Inca Orchid, since the breed is both intelligent (read: stubborn) and difficult to socialize.

Peruvian Inca Orchids were trained for a variety of work. These sleek, fast, and somewhat versatile dogs come in a variety of sizes and colors. They are best-known for being hairless, but there are coated PIOs too, just not nearly as many. These dogs are fairly intelligent, and they can be used for hunting. Long ago, they were used as messenger dogs.

We have seen that the Peruvian Inca Orchid is an ancient dog breed that originated from Peru. This breed also has two varieties the Hairless variety and the Powerduf which is the coated variety. If you have your mindset on getting this dog you should be prepared to take care of his sensitive skin and to make sure that he gets enough physical and mental exercise.

Peruvian Inca Orchids
were first bred to be used as hunters and messengers, and it can often feel like these
dogs
have no 'off' switch. However, they are extremely
intelligent
and loving and understand rules, boundaries and limitations, provided that the owner is consistent with setting these out.

The slightly almond-shaped eyes of Peruvian Hairless Dogs give expressions of an alert and intelligent pooch. They can be black or any hue between brown and yellow, depending on skin color, which can be any shade on the canine rainbow.
