The Bull Arab (BA) is a hybrid of numerous sporting breeds, most notably the Bull Terrier, the Greyhound, and the German Shorthaired Pointer. Regardless of their bloodlines, these hunting dogs are energetic and strong-willed (especially when out in the field), and will need obedience training from an early age.

The Bull Arab is a type of dog developed in Australia for pig hunting. The dog was developed from crossing large, strong dogs of which the most common were Bull Terriers, Great Danes, Greyhounds, and Mastiffs. The result was a medium to large size, short-haired, muscular dog.

Bull Arabs are good watchdogs. Their main job is to observe and they're consistent in their effort. Good vocal cords and sense of hearing belong to them. Usually, they're territorial and protective about their property, so the Bull Arabs will alert you if they sense something different.

Bull Arabs were originally bred for hunting purposes and were specially developed to pull pigs to the ground and hold them by the ear. Like many other breeds of dogs Bull Arabs are now highly valued as superbly loyal family dogs. Several attacks on people in several states of Australia have been allegedly attributed to the breed.

The Bull Arab was originally developed in Australia by a breeder named Mike Hodgens in the 1970s by crossing a Bull Terrier with a German Shorthaired Pointer and a Greyhound. The dog was 50% Bull Terrier. Later, the Bloodhound and English Pointer were added in and some bloodlines have also added in Mastiff.
