Where does the name Cane Corso come from?

  • The Cane Corso is said to have roots from Roman war dogs, while the American Pit Bull Terrier is the term given to the American Staffordshire Terrier, the Staffordshire Terrier and the Bull Terrier. The Bull and Terrier breeds in earlier days were associated with bull and bear baiting, which was fortunately outlawed in 1835 in England.
