The Istrian Shorthaired Hound is a medium sized dog weighing 35 to 40 pounds and standing 18 to 20 inches tall. It can vary in size as less emphasis is on looks and more is placed on hunting ability but it is noble looking and tends to be a little smaller than the Course-Haired Hound.

The Andalusian Hound dog breed was only officially recognized within Spain as recently as 1990 when a breed group was established. Due to the lack of distinctive unique characteristics and the similarities it shares with other breeds of dog, in particular with the Portuguese Podengo, the Andalusian Hound is not typically recognized in its own right outside of its native country.

Covered with thick, silky hair, Afghan Hounds can come in all colors and, in addition to hunting, they make excellent show dogs. While prized by their owners as companion dogs, the Afghan Hound does require regular grooming to maintain its coat and regular daily exercise. Bedlington Terrier

A working dog (shepherd, hunter, herder, etc.) is not a good match for someone who does not like to get out and exercise. That person would be a better fit for a couch potato. Consider rescuing a greyhound. A person who likes to get a work out and have someone to run or play with on the other hand might find a Australian Shepherd a fine friend.
