can't cope with living there full time and have no where to come back to. Getting work is difficult and all the paperwork involved in working is expensive and tiring. You just have to look at all the property for sale in the Gambia and realise it is not a good investment if you need to sell.

Hokkaido winters are long and severely cold, but magnificent flowers can be seen from when the snow melts in April to October when autumn leaves begin to fall. The flower season is shorter than that of Honshu, but there are ways to enjoy flowers in Hokkaido that cannot be found in other prefectures. Many native plants bloom only on remote islands and in unexplored regions.

Sitting in the heart of Hokkaido, the resort is split over the Kitanomine and Furano zone, the latter having the final Japanese ski slopes till the season closes in early May. Look forward to steep slopes and exhilarating downhill runs (featured in the FIS Downhill World Cup on ten occasions) as well as cross-country trails affording wonderful panoramas over the valleys.

Re: Europeans that live in Gambia, What do you do? Get up around 7.30. Coffee, feed dogs, water small plants and seedlings on veranda. Fill water tank, if electric is on, check emails and communications, shower.

On the mainland, it starts to feel like early summer from May onwards, but in Hokkaido, the mornings and evenings are still cold around this time. 2. In Hokkaido the cherry blossoms come out in May! Although the cherry blossoms start budding on the mainland in March, temperatures can still be below freezing in Hokkaido.

Living in Hokkaido as a foreigner might be a bit surprising for some - and for others it's not much of a change. Half a year buried in snow also grants the opportunity to do many activities you can only do in winter, like building snowmen, skiing, and snowboarding.
