Created in the traditional region of Istria, which now exists partly in both Croatia and Slovenia, the Istrian Coarse-haired Hound is a 19th century cross between the French Griffon Vende?n and the Istrian Shorthaired Hound. Bred as a hunting dog, they are eager, hardworking and curious, but occasionally unruly and with a mind of their own.
