Roundworms are not highly pathogenic (harmful) to adult dogs, but large numbers can cause weight loss and a pot-bellied appearance in puppies or otherwise weak dogs.

Decreased appetite, vomiting or diarrhea will be observed on occasion.

Puppies sometimes die with serious roundworm infections.
