Although some dogs might respond well to brown rice, they are not a preferred option to treat an upset stomach. The presence of bran and several other nutrients (including fiber) makes them a little too rough for your canine companions. For this reason, white rice are more suitable for dogs having diarrhea.

Absolutely. Dogs can eat grains, including brown rice, because they are omnivores. That means dogs can eat and digest foods that come from plants. Dogs arent strict carnivores, so brown rice or other grains can be a part of their diet.

Treats Constipation Although brown rice are a bit difficult to digest, they can help your dog with constipation. The high quantity of fiber in brown rice is ideal for maintaining proper bowel movements. Having said that, you should not feed your dog too much brown rice because they can act as fillers.

Brown rice is high in fiber as The Health Benefits of Brown Rice for Dogs which is mean that it can help the constipated dog. It high of fiber is because of the bran contained which distinguish between brown rice and white rice. Oils, butter, and added seasonings can irritate your dogs stomach and make the problem worse, so stick with plain boiled chicken and rice and save the extra stuff for your own meal.
