We wonder if dogs have the same type of reaction to music as humans.

Here is a little bit of information on a dog's ability to hear.

Studies have shown that dogs have a much more sensitive set of ears than humans do.

Dogs can hear higher sound frequencies on a hertz (Hz) scale, while humans can hear lower frequencies.

Certainly dogs hear the sound of music.

With the except of some very low frequency sounds that humans hear that dogs can't, dogs can hear much better than people. There may be all kinds of things dogs hear over the radio, from streaming music, or off a CD that people can't hear.

Research has shown that many dogs react to music according to the tone of the music, just as humans do. ... When dogs hear normal conversation and typical pop music, they usually don't have much reaction. Dogs are quite aware of their surroundings at all times, but there are some sounds they are used to or not phased by.
