  • A good example of this is that raw kidney beans are toxic for dogs and can cause vomiting and diarrhoea. However, cooked kidney beans are perfectly safe and have no health risks. Broad beans are also toxic to dogs and should be avoided.

  • Never try to feed broad beans to your dog as it can make them sick. Because of the larger size and tougher skin it may be possible that it is more difficult to cook this particular type of bean which helps neutralize the PHA. Most beans need to be cooked before given to dogs as in a raw state they are dangerous for dogs to eat.
