The Irish Red and White Setter was recognized by the AKC in 2009 and is its 161st breed. There is usually some black on the roof of the mouth of an Irish Red and White Setter. Ireland included the Irish Red and White Setter with the Irish Setter on a postage stamp during the early 1900s.
