You may be used to feeding your Cane Corso four cups of one dog food but when you change to a new food, with more calories, if you continue to give your dog four cups he will quickly gain weight. Check the calories on the label to see how many calories the food contains and figure out how much food your dog needs.

The Cane Corso is a large dog breed that needs food high in protein and relatively low in fat. The Cane Corso is prone to obesity, so dont choose dog food that is high in calories. Between 6 and 12 weeks, feed your Cane Corso 4 times a day. After that, you can gradually cut back first to 3 meals a day and from around 6 months you can start cutting back to two meals a day.

Adult weight = Growth x 52 (number of weeks in one year) So, for example, if your 12-week old pup weighs 18 pounds. You simply divide the current weight by their age in weeks and multiply the result with 52: 18/ 12 = 1.5. 1.5 x 52= 78 pounds. 78 pounds would be the expected weight of your adult-sized Cane Corso.

A full-grown Cane Corso needs at least 3.3 lbs of food every day, so it's not something that a lot of owners may find ideal. Does your Cane Corso have issues with anxiety, destructive chewing, aggressiveness, jumping up, barking or fearfulness?

Specialists recommend feed Cane Corso puppies 3-6 times a day (depending of animal age), gradually making their feeding twice-a day. Adult tracker dogs may be fed once a day-it is quire allowable and even experienced breeders recommend that.

A 15-pound bag of large breed puppy dog food will cost $76 while a 15-pound bag of large breed adult dog food will cost $44. The difference in price comes from the fact that puppy formulation has a different nutrition balance, especially phosphorus to calcium ratio, as well as extra nutrition.

Take the total amount of food your puppy needs each day and divide that into two to three smaller meals. Give those smaller amounts to him at regular intervals each day. An easy puppy feeding schedule to follow is to feed him when you eatat breakfast, lunch and dinner.
