No, dogs do not go through menopause like humans do. Dogs that have not been spayed will continue to have heat cycles, and therefore bleed once or twice a year, for their entire lives unless they are pregnant or get spayed. ... This increase in time between heat cycles is not the same as menopause, though.

  • This is a great question! Dogs never stop going into heat although as they get older it may become less frequent. Even if she didn't go into heat for a year or more she will eventually go back into heat. I feel badly she can't be spayed.
