In essence, service dogs are indeed allowed to bark, and may even be trained to do so under specific circumstances.

They are only allowed to bark non-aggressively, though, in a manner in line with their training.

Although service dogs are allowed to bark, they are trained to bark in a non-aggressive manner. Before you go outside with the service dog, make sure that he is friendly and well-mannered without threatening or disturbing the public.
