As one would expect, the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon has a hard, coarse top coat with a fine, dense undercoat. The top coat is quite long, especially around the face and upper body. It is usually a steel grey colour with brown patches distributed throughout, though dogs with solid liver, liver-roan, and mixed liver and white coats are also seen.
