Please give a warm welcome to Holly! She is a 5-month-old pup who was surrendered due to a hernia and anal prolapse. She is an absolute sweetheart and very friendly to everyone she meets.

One of our very dedicated volunteers immediately rushed Holly to the ER upon picking her up from her previous family. She was tested for parvo (which thank goodness was negative), given an ultrasound to check for intussusception, and dewormed after a fecal test was performed. A purse-string stitch was also performed for her anal prolapse.

Sadly, after being in her foster home for only a short time, Holly’s anus prolapsed again. She was taken back to the ER and another purse-string stitch was performed. The ER surgeon and internal medicine specialists felt this was the best option. They felt that performing a colopexy (which can have its own complications) was too early in her treatment and that she was too small and young.

Holly is now home again with her foster family and foster mom reports that she is back to her usual puppy energy. She really missed her toys and is having so much fun playing…chasing balls and throwing and chasing squeak toys all around the house.

She is a very curious girl and will eat anything she can get a hold of even her poop, so she has to be very closely watched. She is currently on a strict wet food diet. She does well in a crate and in her carrier on car rides and is super social, lighting up whenever people are around.

Our sweet Holly has a road ahead of her, but we are determined to get this girl better. Please stay tuned for updates as she will be heading back to the vet this week for a two day stay to have a scoping done to further evaluate her condition.

We greatly appreciate any and all donations! $2000 will help us provide Holly with some basic essentials, such as a leash and food, as well as help us cover some of her vet bills.
