Simple answer is to find the average. If your puppy is in-between two weights for his age then you can find the average of the two. E.g. if your puppy is 5.5 lbs at 16 weeks then he will be inbetween 16.3 and 19.5lbs as an adult or, to be more accurate, the average is 16.3 + 19.5 divided by 2 = 17.9 lbs as an adult.

The first insight into their ultimate adult weight again comes at six weeks of age. Simply take their six-week weight, double it, and then double it again. For example, a 1 lb. puppy at six weeks old will weigh around 4lb as an adult. Medium and Large Breeds

Physical maturity is when a puppy reaches their adult height, depending on their breed. Smaller breeds generally are considered fully grown at about 12 months of age. Larger breeds can take up to a year or two to finish growing. Mental and emotional maturity

Medium, large and giant breed puppies can take anywhere between 12-24 months to be fully grown. Small and toy breeds are fully grown at around 12 months. It is generally thought that for small breeds a 5oz gain per week is acceptable and for large breeds around 2lb per week.

Small = 12 - 25 lbs. Medium = 25 - 50 lbs. Large = 50 - 100 lbs. Giant = Over 100 lbs. If you have a mix-breed dog or if you're not sure which breed size category your puppy falls into, check your puppy's current age and weight against our puppy weight charts.

If you have toy-sized dogs, such as a King Charles Spaniel, or even a small dog, such as the Australian Terrier, can grow to full size in as little as half a year. Larger dogs, such as Great Danes, may take between 18 to 24 months to grow to full size.

If the puppy paws are large and the breed he belongs to is a big dog breed, it is needless to say that he will grow into a large adult. The 16 weeks mark While puppy paws are usually proportionate with the overall size, it might not seem so at first.
