Method 1 Stopping the Snoring

  1. Adjust the dog's position. Move your sleeping dog so it is lying on its belly with its head and paws straight.
  2. Clean the bedding. Wash the bedding once or twice a week to clear away dust and other allergens.
  3. Add moisture to the air.
  4. Minimize allergens.
  5. Be cautious about other treatments.

  • Some Dog Breeds Are Predisposed to Snoring. When they get too loud, Dr. Werber says that he'll often change his dogs' positions in order to get the snoring to stop. Some pet experts even suggest getting a humidifier, which increases the moisture in the air and can help dogs (and humans) to sleep better.

  1. Try an air humidifier.
  2. Get a round bed for your dog to sleep on (the position will expand your buddy's air passages)
  3. Use a pillow to prop up your sleepy sidekick's head while he rests.
  4. Switch up the rooms your buddy sleeps in.
