6 Months and Older: By the time, your puppy is about six months old or so, all of his puppy teeth should have fallen out, and his adult teeth should have grown in.

Dogs normally begin to lose their primary ("puppy") teeth at around 4 months of age.

When the primary teeth don't fall out as the adult teeth come in, infection or damage to the adult teeth may develop.

Retained teeth are common in small breeds like Westies.
