Well i walk my dog 2 times a day, and i walk him for about a
half hour or so in the day time. At night when i walk him i would
say about half an hour to 45 minute's depending on the weather and
the time maybe less if i let him off the leash because he runs
wild, but your dogs need at least one walk a day.

Though exercise needs are based on a dog's age, breed, size and overall health, your dog should spend between 30 minutes to two hours on an activity every day.

Breeds in the hunting, working, or herding groups (e.g., Labrador retrievers, hounds, collies and shepherds) will need the most exercise.

How long should I be walking my dogs each day?

  • In general, most dogs benefit from between 30 minutes to two hours  of physical activity per day, according to PetMD. That can be all at once, but most people break it up into two or three walks per day. There's no perfect formula to determine how long to walk your dog, but half an hour at a time is a good rule of thumb.
