You can feed your dog one or two times a day. It's best to do it twice daily at 8-12 hour intervals. If you're doing it this way, split the suggested amount found on the bag or you'll feed it double what it needs.

Unless stated otherwise, these amounts are the total that is recommended for your dog over a 24 hour period.

Most adult dogs should eat two meals a day (puppies often require three or more feedings), so you'll need to divide the amount in the table by the number of meals you are offering.

  • If your dog is an adult, feeding him two meals per day may be optimal. If he's a growing puppy, three meals per day may be suitable. Keep your pet on a puppy meal schedule until he's between 14 and 18 months old. At that point you can transition him to the adult plan of two meals daily.
