Therefore, an 8-week-old puppy will urinate approximately every three hours and a 12-week-old puppy every four hours.

Puppies generally defecate within a half hour of a meal, according to Cesar's Way.

A puppy that is 8 weeks old is going to need to urinate about every three hours. With a puppy, it’s also common for them to have to poop within 30 minutes after eating a meal. Most puppies will also poop somewhere in the range of two times to four times per day.

Puppies can hold their bladder for as many hours as they are months old. An eight week old puppy will only be able to hold their bladder for an hour to two hours at most. If your puppy is having trouble pooping, read our post on puppy constipation to learn remedies and how to prevent it in the future.

10pm – Last toilet and then Bedtime. 2am – Toilet stop in the middle of the night (Moses will often do a poo) In total an 8-10 week old puppy may sleep for up to 18 or even 20 hours per day so don’t be alarmed if they seem to be taking things easy and count your blessings!

An 8 week old puppy can be expected to spend around 18 to 20 hours asleep out of every 24. The phase where puppies fall asleep easily on your lap or in your arms doesn’t last long. But dogs continue to sleep for long periods throughout their lives.

While the frequency of your dog’s bowel movements may vary based on several factors, it is normal for him to go “do his business” between one and five times per day. Healthier is on the higher side of this range, but not too much. What can change the frequency of your pup’s poop in a day? How much they have eaten in the last 24-48 hours

Most dogs poop between 1 and 5 times per day. Puppies or older dogs who eat frequent small meals may be on the higher end of this scale. Dogs with health issues may poop more or less depending on the nature of their issues.

Both puppies and adult dogs should poop at least once every 24 hours, but you’ll likely have to take out your puppy or dog two or three times in total. If your dog is maintaining a good weight, his feces are of normal consistency (meaning not too loose or hard), and your puppy doesn’t seem to be constipated, then you shouldn’t worry.

No, rawhide does not dissolve in the dog's stomach. In fact, the opposite is true — the rawhide swells up. Far from being broken down, rawhide forces your dog to pass the pieces they swallow, making for a risk of bowel blockage.

How long do I wait before taking my puppy outside? Vets recommend waiting until 10-14 days after your puppy's last vaccination booster – usually at around 14–16 weeks of age – before introducing them to the wonders of local parks, beaches and walking trails.

By around eight weeks of age your puppy should be eating solid food.

Puppies should be fed three to four times a day therefore if you are currently feeding ¾ a cup of puppy food twice a day you should consider spacing it out by feeding ½ cup three times a day.

A good rule of thumb is a ratio of five minutes exercise per month of age (up to twice a day) until the puppy is fully grown, i.e.

15 minutes (up to twice a day) when three months old, 20 minutes when four months old etc.

Once they are fully grown, they can go out for much longer.

At a minimum, it's advised to bathe your dog at least once every three months.

You can wash your dog as frequently as every other week (with gentle shampoo, it could be even more frequent).

When in doubt, use your judgment — if your dog starts to smell, it's probably time for a bath.

Dogs sometimes eat poop out of boredom, for attention, to avoid punishment, or due to health issues.

However, stool eating, also known as coprophagy, is actually quite normal behavior for a puppy.

She does this both to keep the "den" clean and to protect the puppies from predators that might be drawn by the scent.

According to this report, the total first-year cost of owning a dog is $1,270 and for a cat it's $1,070.

As you can see, having a pet can cost you over $1,000 in the first year, and well over $500 each additional year.

Depending on the food you buy and sudden medical expenses, the costs could be much higher.
