Give your dog fruits and vegetables as snacks. Outside of your dogs regular meals, snacks can be a great way to add whole foods to its diet. Feed fruits and vegetables (raw or cooked) to your dog as snacks, keeping in mind those that fall onto the never foods list (e.g. grapes). Feel free to let your dog snack on:

Mix the food carefully. Some dogs will only want to eat the new food and not the old food. In order to prevent this, you need to mix the new food thoroughly with the old food. That way, your dog can't choose which parts it wants to eat. Start by giving your dog 75% of the old food and 25% of the new food.

1. Feed your dog a wide variety of foods from different food groups. 2. Make sure you supplement your dogs homemade diet with calcium unless you feed raw meaty bones. 3. Stick to lean meats and remove skin from the poultry you feed unless your dog is highly active. 4.

You can feed your dog a couple of meals a day, staying within the recommended feeding amounts for his breed and size. Try to feed your dog at roughly the same time each day so he knows when to expect food and is hungry around meal times. Break up the amount of food your dog needs into a couple of meals a day.

It starts by offering your dog food for dinner as you normally would. During this time, leave the room and do not interact with your pup. If your dog follows you, ignore him. If your dog has not eaten his meal within the 15 minutes, take his food away.

Offer Treats If your dog isnt eating his regular food, offer up a treat and see if he will eat that. Again, it may simply be because your dog is bored with his diet or doesnt like what is in the bowl, but he will eat the treat.

For a generally healthy adult dog, a temporary food substitution is fine but& Consider your dogs allergies or any chronic health conditions being managed by diet. If the other dog is on a higher-fat food, cut the amount youd normally feed in half and fill up the rest of the bowl with a carbohydrate such as cooked pasta or rice for bulk.
