There are some tricks to get them to get used to each others scents quickly. You can swap their bedding, or simply rub a towel on your cat and place it next to your dog, and vice versa. Hopefully, your cat and dog are able to get used each other scent in no time using these tricks. 5)Desensitization

If the cat and dog feel safe it will take away tension and fear. Smell is important to both dogs and cats. Take a towel or something similar and rub it on the cat or dog. Allow each pet to get used to the others scent this will help both of them feel relaxed and more familiar with the other.

Hold your cat in your arms until it is calm and relaxed. Then ask a family member or friend to slowly bring your dog on a leash into the room. Gradually bring the dog closer in small steps, waiting for your cat and dog to both settle down as each step of the way before getting closer.

If you have earned the trust of your cat, keep the animal in your arms and allow your dog to come over in his/her own time. He/she will be curious eventually and will approach to sniff its new friend. This helps your dog associate a sent, the main form of communication in canines, with your new cat. #2 Obedience Training

Here are some basic steps for introducing a cat and a dog: Before starting the introduction, let your new family member settle in by confining him or her to an enclosed area of the house for a few days. Start exposure through a single, closed, solid door.
