These fats support the immune system and can be beneficial for skin and coat health.

There has also been some indication that they may benefit dogs with allergies.

You can feed salmon or salmon oil.

If feeding salmon, make sure it's cooked before serving, as raw salmon can carry a parasite that can make your dog sick.

Salmon is OK for dogs only if it is has been thoroughly,
thoroughly cooked and has no bones in it. Note that lox/smoked
salmon is not necessarily cooked, so don't give that to your dog,
either.
Uncooked and undercooked salmon often contains a parasite that
will kill your dog.
Fish bones can cause a lot of trouble for dogs because they get
stuck in places and cause internal bleeding or infections.
Canned salmon that has been checked for bones is OK to give a
dog because it is well cooked to be canned.
