Male Borders can move faster when it comes to outdoorsy tasks because they love working hard so much. All you have to do is give them a wide-open place to play around. This helps them to get better at their job. The Female Border Collie. Female Border Collies are expected to be more responsive and attentive to the happenings around them.

As a
male dog
ages he is more likely to maintain his puppy-like exuberance than females, who tend to become more reserved and aloof. Often (but not always) male dogs will be more food motivated than females. This has distinct training advantages. One could say that males have a more "even" temperament.

It is completely your choice if you are looking for a welcoming, outdoor dog, then a
male Border Collie is
the best for you. If you want to have a more loyal, focused, and attentive dog than a female Border Collie, it will be the best for you.

Females are less affectionate than males and are likely to become more reserved with age. "Entire" females will have mood swings when they come on heat. In general females tend to be more "moody" than males. From a competition perspective they have days of brilliance and days of less than excellent performance.

I've seen very sweet females and very sweet males. They are all individuals. One thing that I have seen with female border collies is that they can tend to be snarky to other females. But again, nothing is absolute. FWIW, all my personal dogs are males. My youngest is the sweetest and cuddliest and has the bestest personality ever.

If you choose to get a male Border Collie, ensure that they really do moderate exercises, and then you must also have high gates around your house. When you select a female Border, please ensure too that they are well-trained and socially interactive with other dogs and humans.

5. Are male border collies more protective than females? P While males will have an instinctive nature to protect their property and defend their owners, so too will a female border collie. Aside from males being physically bigger and stronger, both will display protective behavior and even aggression if the situation calls for it.
