Are Dogo Argentino Illegal in the US? No, Dogo Argentinos are not illegal in the US. However, they are banned in certain areas because of their potentially dangerous temperaments and their ability to harm others.

In the US, they have been banned in Aurora, Colorado, and New York City. New Zealand, Denmark, Norway, Singapore, Iceland, Israel, and the Ukraine have all decided it is illegal to own one of these dogs. In Australia, it is even illegal to import a Dogo Argentino.

  • The Dogo Argentino is banned , or has ownership restrictions, in certain countries, including the Cayman Islands, Denmark, Fiji, Iceland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Turkey, and Ukraine. In the United Kingdom, under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, it is illegal  to own a Dogo Argentino without lawful authority.
