If your breeder encourages taking home two puppies at once without discussing the difficulties that comes along with having sibling dogs, steer clear and seek out a different breeder. On the plus side, a brother sister duo may keep each other company and be able to play with one another.

In fact, cousins should not even be bred together. Genetic variety promotes the health an well being of a breed. Dogs related in any way should never be bred.

When you breed dogs that are half - sisters and half - brothers, you're mixing the gene pool through inbreeding. This can cause genetic defects in the long run. It also increases the chances of disease, illness, disabilities, and bad behavioral traits as the coefficient of inbreeding increases.
