Yes. The blood test detects pregnancy in the the pregnant dog by measuring levels of a hormone called relaxin.

This hormone is produced by the developing placenta following implantation of the embryo, and can be detected in the blood in most pregnant females as early as 22-27 days post-breeding.

When a woman is pregnant, the hormones in her body are likely to alter her scent in some way.

So, can dogs sense pregnancy? Because of their keen sense of smell, it's believed by many that a dog can detect a change in a woman even before she does — but it's mostly conjecture.

When it comes to cruise ships that allow pets, there's only one: Cunard's Queen Mary 2. On certain transatlantic sailings -- those between New York and Southampton, either direction -- you can bring your dog or cat, but that doesn't mean your fuzzy family members will be able to snuggle with you in your cabin.
All of the available tests require either a swab from your dog's cheek or a blood sample drawn by your veterinarian. Tests that require a check swab sample include Canine Heritage®, by MMI Genomics, Inc., the DNA Breed Identification Kit from BioPet Vet Lab, and the Mars Veterinary Wisdom Panel™ Insights.

All of these mail-in kits retail between $60 and $90.

Mars Veterinary also offers a blood DNA test that is only available through veterinarians called Wisdom Panel Professional.

The cost of this test to the dog owner will vary depending on the veterinary office that draws the blood, but expect to pay about $150.

Relax, she may just be experiencing false pregnancy—a very common condition for intact or unspayed, female dogs that occurs after they go through an estrus or heat cycle.

As a result, after any heat cycle, your dog can experience most of the same signs of pregnancy as when she's not actually pregnant: Early lethargy.

Then, quickly move your palm towards its face so it's 3 inches away.

If your dog doesn't blink, it could mean that your dog can't see well or at all.
