Mimi – 1 year old female Chihuahua

Mimi is a 1 year old female Chihuahua. She has come to us after her previous owner could sadly no longer care for her.

Mimi has been used to having human company all day so is looking for a new home where she won’t be left.

Mimi Does suffer from separation anxiety and can become very attached to people, very quickly.

To assist with this, she will need to live in a multi-person household where all family members can share her care and keep her relationships balanced.

Since being in her foster home, Mimi can now be left for short periods but this has been built up very slowly.

We would still recommend that her new family does not leave her until she is settled but it’s great to see she does have some potential to be left!

Mimi would like to be the only pet in her new home and can find meeting new pets a little scary. She has not had to share her home or owners before and we feel this is something that she will need in the future.

Mimi is currently spending time in one of our fantastic foster homes where she has been getting the hang of meeting other dogs on walks but would benefit from further socialisation.

It might be best that Mimi has some quieter places to go for a walk when she first gets home so she doesn’t become too overwhelmed.

Although initially worried, once Mimi has gotten to know you she loves being up on your lap or safely tucked under your arm for a snuggle.

As long as she is close to you, she is not particularly demanding and has been known to snooze away in her bed while our office staff are hard at work when she visits us from her foster home.

Mimi’s favourite place to relax is being snuggled up inside her foster carers jumpers! Mimi could potentially live with children over the age of 13 years old depending on introductions at the centre.
