My 4 year old mini poodle, had the rabies/parvovirus-distemper combo/Bordetella. Three different injections, all in the neck. Four hours later, my dog was running around the house like crazy! Tossing pillows, pushing blanket off the bed and panting . I rushed her back to the vet, by then, the top of her nose into her eyes and ears was bright red. Swelling in her mouth area. Her temp was 105.5. They rushed her into the back and injected her in her back area with subcutaneous fluids with ...

It will sometimes occur in one leg and move to the other. As it gets worse, the limbs will get weaker and the dog will have trouble standing. It tends to continue to get worse until the dog is no longer able to walk or stand. If signs continue, the dog will eventually lose the use of its front limbs as well.

Beatrice is due for her rabies this year, in order to a vaccine waiver I have to prove she is Ill, or find out if she is well enough for the vaccine. Thankfully my vet understands my uncharted territory with Beatrice. My gamble with a cistology sample didn't pay off, fatty lipoma. Not having all Beatrice's lumps tested.

To this date there still has not been one case of dog rabies, including the population of dogs whose owners, GOD BLESS THEM, do not vaccinate for rabies. Let's go further. From 1964 to 1989 there were no cases of rabies in cats in Pinellas County. Magically in 1989 a law was passed mandating rabies vaccination, tags and licenses for all cats. Same tired worn out excuses were used. Since the 1989 law there was one cat with rabies contracted from the bite of a bat. DO YOU READERS REALLY ...

I recently imported a Standard Poodle puppy from Poland and it a month after arrival he started to exhibit symptoms of fear agression, he became reactive to cycles, people but especially other dogs when out of the house on his lead. His tail which normally would be erect and confident would drop completely and he would be constantly looking around as he walked as if he were being stalked. I started treating with Belladona but this made no difference so then swapped to Thuja and ...

He was a toy poodle and my 92 year old mothers constant companion. I too loved the little guy to no end. He was with us 16 years. He developed canine Alzheimers about a year ago. Although he was diagnosed at an early age with a weak heart he kept himself in great shape. That is until about a few weeks ago when his heart began to fail. He would faint and collapse on occasion and his heavy breathing became increasingly intense. We had a vet see him and suggested medication but ...

He was at the vets office for. Physical because they wouldnt fill his heart meds until he had his annual exam. They gave him the rabies shot saying it wont hurt him if he had one within the three years. After the exam and rabies shot my dog started to decline, that very evening. Didnt hardley eat, very weak, just not his usual self. He kept declining only drinking bits of water and barely able to stand as he was so weak. He would look at us with this very sad face and try ...

Even though it's rare, a dog can have a severe reaction to the rabies vaccine. This typically isn't because there's something wrong with the vaccine itself, but is due to an overreaction of the dog's immune system. Serious side effects usually start immediately after or within one to two hours of vaccination.

Once symptoms do develop, your dog would show these signs of the rabies infection: pica, fever, seizures, paralysis, hydrophobia, dropped jaw, inability to swallow, unusual aggression or shyness, excitability, and frothy saliva.
