Broccoli is teeming with vitamins and minerals, is low in calories, and filled with fiber to keep their digestive system moving along. Dogs can safely eat all forms of broccoli. If you want to offer your dog a piece of broccoli, do it prior to adding any seasoning or extra ingredients like onions or oils that could upset their tummies.

Broccoli should be safe if it makes up 10 percent or less of your dog's daily diet. For most dogs, this means one or two large florets with stalks attached per day. You can serve this by itself, mixed with other vegetables, or mixed into Fido's regular dog food.

Any part of the broccoli is considered safe for dogs to eat, including the stalks and stems. However, it is important to keep in mind that broccoli stalks and stems are much tougher and harder than other parts of the broccoli. This means that the stalks and stems can be more difficult for your dog to chew and digest.
