Not really. A detection dog or sniffer dog is a dog that is trained to use its senses (mostly its smell) to detect substances such as explosives, illegal drugs, wildlife scat, currency, blood, and contraband electronics such as illicit mobile phones. Thai Ridgeback is not the best breed for detection purposes.

Thai Ridgebacks were known to be great guard dogs on farms and other properties. Thanks to the remoteness of these islands, Thai Ridgebacks did not come into contact with other dogs which ensured the breeds bloodlines remained pure throughout the centuries.
