Are dogs allowed in Target? Dogs are not allowed in Target. The only exception to this rule is with official service dogs (not therapy dogs). Other than that, Target is not dog friendly, and has a very strict dog policy. But there are times where there have been exceptions to this rule.

You should not bring your non-service dog to Target. Pets are not allowed. The problem is, anyone can claim their pet is a service animal. Please don't do this. It not only disrespects real service animals and their owners, but puts them at risk as well. Emotional support dogs are not service animals.

For example, is Target dog-friendly? Their mascot may be the beautiful bull terrier Bullseye, but they're a staunch service dog-only environment (along with Costco, Walmart, IKEA, and others). ... Many restaurants welcome dogs in their outdoor spaces.

Target is definitely not a a pet friendly retailer and they basically do not allow dogs in most of their stores. They only allow service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act and any animal that does meet the requirements with regards to ADA will not be allowed inside a Target Store.

Target should allow all types of service dogs mentioned above. And an owner of a service animal may explain the circumstances so that they can enter Target locations. Conclusion

Its important to note that stores which are not pet and dog-friendly will still allow service dogs to enter their retail space. They wont, however, allow pet dogs on their premises.

Our Target is in a plaza with a Petsmart and a Home Depot and dogs are allowed in both of those stores, but Target is very strict on no dogs because they have food. I have seen dogs in the mall all of a sudden. I don't get it. I know my dog would much rather be home on the couch than stuffed in my bag in the mall.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome to peruse their aisles as long as theyre kept on a leash. (If youre planning on eating at one of the iconic department stores on-site restaurants, leave your pup at homethe restaurants dont allow dogs.)

They don't allow dogs and will enforce the policy if they see you.

I'm pretty sure Target does not allow dogs.

If it's not a service dog you should leave your pet at home.

Targets official policy on dogs is that they only allow service animals on the premises. Shop Today's Deals at Chewy! A corporate representative stated that: We will allow customers to bring service animals into the store, but not non-service animals.

Why is this? Because pet-friendly stores are considered those that will allow a person to bring their regular pet in not just a service dog. Of course, Target has to abide by the ADA laws, and therefore, allow service animals and those with disabilities into the store. Theres nothing they can do when it comes to this.
