Goldfish crackers contain onion powder, and eating a lot can cause poisoning. All parts of the onion or the onion plant are toxic to dogs, including the leaves, flesh, juice, and processed powders. Fried or powdered onions and the allium family (garlic, leeks, shallots, and chives) are harmful to dogs.

Goldfish crackers are not the safest or healthiest treat for your pet dog. According to the manufacturers ingredient label, they contain less than 2% unlisted, generic spices and onion powder. Now, less than 2% is not a large amount, but as previous posts disclose, onion and garlic are both toxic for your dog.

Goldfish Crackers are an excellent human snack. But for dogs, it is just too much to handle. But they can be given a bite or two occasionally as treats. This would keep them from drooling and whining while watching you eat Goldfish Crackers, and the amount would not pose a danger to them. It is a win-win.

Are Goldfish Crackers Safe for Your Pup? A few Goldfish will not harm your dog when given in moderation. However, theyre not the healthiest option for dogs. They also have onion powder listed as an ingredient. Onions and onion powder can be toxic to dogs, but the small amount that is in a singular gold fish is unlikely to cause serious problems.
