The amount of glucosamine and chondroitin that is right for your dog depends on two things: 1) their weight and 2) the severity of their joint condition. For this reason, its important to consult with your veterinarian on how much they recommend daily for your particular pup, and buy supplements accordingly.

It might not be exactly defined how much benefit will be gained by adding these products to your dogs diet, but as long as you follow the label directions and consult with your veterinarian, the chances are high that your dog will see some benefit. Glucosamine is very effective in pain reduction; however, before giving your dog any type of supplement, you should check with your veterinarian. Your veterinarian will be able to determine if taking glucosamine alone is suitable to treat your dogs arthritic pain, or if it should be combined with other medications to provide the most optimal pain relief.

This does not deliver 1500mg of glucosamine to your dog. A call to the company revealed one 1500mg tablet contains only 100mg of glucosamine. It is important to note here that GAGs are sold as dietary supplements rather than as medicines, and are not regulated by the FDA. This puts dosage and exact ingredient labelling up for discrepancies.
