The Artois Hound, also known as Chein dArtois, has a long history, dating back as early as the 15 th century and they are believed to have descended from the dogs of St. Huberts, which were very similar to the modern Bloodhound. However, the breed was developed in the north of France, so people assume that it was mixed with a number of English hounds over the years.
