What color are Malamutes eyes? A Mals eyes should always be brown. Any time a Malamute exhibits blue eyes, its a sign of crossbreeding. Malamute mixes can exhibit interesting traits. An Alusky can have different colored eyes like a Husky. The Aussie Malamute will most likely have a Merle coloring.

Some northern breeds, such as Alaskan Malamutes and Siberian Huskies, can and often do have almond shaped eyes as well as an oblique/slanted set to their eyes, though typically not as angled as a wolf. Eye color ranges from dark brown, bright yellow, to green and ice blue.

Black and white dogs tend to have nice dark eyes. Gray and white and sables are the predominant colors seen in the show ring, although reds, seals, whites, and black and whites are seen more often they used to be. While many show kennels prefer to breed gray and white or sables, Malamute owners always seem to prefer black and white!

An Alaskan Malamute with blue eyes would be immediately disqualified. Brown is the basic of eye color in dogs, and the shades of brown can vary from light brown, through more orange tone, right up to a dark brown that they appear almost black.
