This breed does require routine bathing and grooming. This loyal dog can be bathed every two to eight weeks depending on his activity level and lifestyle. With this dense coat, regular bathing is essential to minimize shedding and to maintain healthy skin and coat.

TIP: If giving your Rottweiler a bath during the summertime, please remember that the water that has been left in the hose can get very hot if in the sun! It can burn your dog! Turn the hose on and let that water spray out before beginning to put the water on your dog.

This makes sure that they grow into healthy adult dogs with minimal health issues. If you are wondering when you will be able to give your puppy a bath, check out the information we have ready below! Why Should You Wait To Give A Puppy Its First Bath. At a young age, puppies are not able to properly regulate heat.

Let your puppy smell the shampoo so they are familiar with the scent. If your Rottweiler puppy is still very small, I suggest bathing them in a sink. A bathtub may be a bit large, and it may be easier for your to bathe them in a more controlled environment. You may want to place a bath towel in the bottom of the sink or tub before bathing your puppy.

If he spends a great deal of time indoors, he may require bathing once every 4 to 6 weeks. No cut-and-dried formula exists for how often your Rottweiler needs bathing. You will need to be the judge of that. Most Rottweilers enjoy the water and are quite amenable to baths.

Now to answer your question; Yes you can give a mini version of a bath to your puppy. Ideally for about 12 to 15 weeks the puppies dont need any bath. However, since they get dirty and their coat may contain some stains or allergens; it is absolutely ok to give a mini version of a bath.

In general, a pup whos been properly, and consistently, housetrained will be fairly reliable by 6 months of age (without constant supervision), but all pups are different and some are faster to learn, others slower. Id recommend using a crate and bringing your girl indoors so that you can get this taken care of now while shes still young.

Honestly, even if the weather is hot, Rottweilers dont need to be bathed very often. If they get really DIRTY or whatever, then yes, a bath is good but otherwise its not that important. Rotties also tend to have sensitive skin, so over-bathing can make their skin/coat too dry and cause problems.

You don't need to bathe a Rottweiler puppy very often, but when you do, you should only use shampoo that's specially formulated for dogs. Other kinds of soap will dry out your puppy's skin, leaving it vulnerable to skin conditions.
