Rhodesian ridgebacks are extremely tolerant dogs and excellent companions. They are good with children, but both child and dog must learn to behave around one another. Because of their size, younger and more excitable ridgebacks may knock over small children by accident.

Are Salukis good family dogs?

The saluki is decidedly a one-family dog, tending to be aloof, or even shy, with strangers. Salukis are quiet at home, extremely gentle with children, and good with other dogs. They make adequate watchdogs, but miserable protection dogs. Salukis must get a chance to run, and run hard, every day.
