In natural settings, cat fleas occasionally bite humans. However, they don't breed on them. The fleas take a blood meal and then leave. Flea bites on humans are incidental, usually only occurring when a flea-infested pet lives in the person's habitat.

Very closely related species – like horses and donkeys – can mate and reproduce. But even then, their babies are sterile. The offspring of horses and donkeys are called mules, and mules can't reproduce. But humans and dogs are very different species.

The further apart two animals are in genetic terms, the less likely they are to produce viable offspring. At this point, humans seem to have been separate from other animals for far too long to interbreed. Attempts both to inseminate women with monkey sperm and impregnate female chimpanzees with human sperm failed.
