Do dogs need b12?

Most dogs get all the vitamin B12 they need from their food. But dogs with digestive disorders or other health issues may not be able to absorb enough of it, and the resulting B12 deficiency can cause serious health problems, including diarrhea, weight loss, and even seizures.

Do dogs need taurine?

Cats (but not dogs) always require a source of taurine in their food. In contrast, dogs (usually) do not require a source of dietary taurine. However, we know that some dogs still develop taurine-deficiency DCM.

Do dogs need sunblock?

It's highly important that you only use types of sunscreen that are specifically intended for use on dogs. They should not contain zinc oxide or para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), as these ingredients are toxic to dogs if ingested, and dogs will often lick their skin and accidentally ingest the sunscreen.

Most animals need only what are known as core vaccines: those that protect against the most common and most serious diseases. Uh no, not really. But that doesn't mean you should put away the shades for good. Humans wear sunglasses to reduce ultraviolet exposure—which can lead to age-related cataracts—to our eyes. Dogs, on the other hand, have a shorter life span and therefore don't develop UV light damage in their eyes.

Do dogs need collars?

Under the Control of Dogs Order 1992, all dogs must wear a collar and identity tag in a public place. The tag must show the owner's name and address. Dog wardens can enforce this law and fines of up to £5000 can be given by the Courts for an offence.
