Probably not. Scabies will not usually disappear by itself, so it requires treatment. If it's left untreated, the constant scratching may lead to eczema or other kinds of chronic skin diseases.

However if your pillows or other items can't be cleaned by using a dryer, you should place them in plastic bags for at least two weeks and keep them in some place that is not frequently used like basement. Scabies can't survive for more than 3 or 3 three days without human contact.

How long does scabies last?

The scabies infestation usually lasts until treated. People are usually no longer contagious within 24 hours of treatment. Even after successful treatment, the dead mites, dead eggs, and fecal material will remain in the skin for 2 to 4 weeks (until the skin grows out). Thus, intense itching is expected to continue.

Will Lysol wipes kill scabies?

Lysol is a powerful disinfectant and will kill scabies on surfaces. Ultimately permethrin spray is my top recommendation for cleaning surfaces. But I recommend Lysol as well.
