Sasha – 2 year old female German Shepherd cross Doberman

Sasha is a 2 year old female German Shepherd cross Doberman. She is a Romanian Rescue dog. She has been with her current family since she was 5 months old. Sasha is a loving dog who is adored by her family including their 3 teenage/early 20’s children.

Sasha is house trained and settles well at home. Sasha is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and wormed. She loves her walks and enjoys chasing tennis balls. Once she has had a walk she settles beautifully in her bed or on the settee. She loves to be close to her trusted adult owners.

Sasha is a strong and big girl and a bundle of love and can be heavy on the lead but can walk to heel as long as you are firm with her. Sasha enjoys and is very good at meeting other dogs at the park but can be nervous of people she does not know especially if they do not have a dog with them. This nervousness presents with her occasionally barking at people.

As a response to this her owners generally walk Sasha on a long lead when people are about unless they are in an open field where they are not in close proximity to other people and therefore let her off the lead.

Sasha loves being at home but she can be anxious when new people come in but she settles quickly once they come in and sit down. Once Sasha gets to know someone, she is very loving and settled. Sasha is a very clever dog and is very quick to learn.

Sasha currently lives with 2 older but much smaller female dogs and whilst they generally get on very well, since Sasha has become socially mature, there has been a few incidents of aggression towards the other two dogs, which appears to be at least partially around resource (food) guarding.

Her family are heartbroken about the thought of finding a new home for Sasha but have become increasingly concerned about the wellbeing of the other two smaller dogs. Sasha needs a home where she is the only dog/animal (although she has not been evaluated with cats).

She will ideally need a reasonably sized garden with a secure fence although she does not jump fences. A more rural setting would be ideal. Due to her size and energy level we would not place her with children as she could be too strong for them. Sasha is still living with her family in Bromley in Kent.
