As cute as the Toy Fox Terrier is, it is his personality that is really his most attractive trait. This dog literally has boundless energy and brain power to match. Although he can't escape displaying typical Terrier scrappiness when the situation calls for it, his Toy dog heritage tempers that abundant spirit quite nicely.

A heart condition such as heartworms can also cause a cough, which will need to checked if your dog is not on heartworm. Kennel cough is normally contracted when a dog has been boarded or kenneled or around a large number of dogs such as at a dog show. Here is a website with more information on kennel cough.

If your dogs eyes are constantly watering, it could be anything simple from allergies to a foreign body in the eye. Other more serious conditions could include abnormal eyelashes, blocked tear ducts, scratched corneas or even glaucoma.

Pop pop was the one who got sick first (around last week of June) whose symptoms were lack of appetite, watery eyes, puking clear to white spit, shortness and fast-paced breathing. Luckily, he recovered.

Experts say it should feel like cookie dough or Play-Doh when pressed. Large volumes, pudding-like or watery consistency, or signs of mucus (looks like jelly), or blood streaks, are not normal.

That doesnt necessarily mean he is sick, but the first step you have to take if your dog is acting lethargic for more than a day is to call the vet. Then, someone like Williams (a veterinary technician whos trained to listen to a pet owners concerns) will decide when its appropriate to bring the pet in for an examination sometimes immediately, other times in a few days.

For dogs who just have diarrhea: Make sure the dog has access to plenty of clean water to avoid dehydration. Give the dog a small meal of boiled white meat chicken (no bones or skin) and white rice. If the diarrhea continues for more than 24 hours or your dog's condition worsens at any time, call your vet immediately.
