Similarly to peaches and apples, cherries contain cyanide-releasing amygdalin in their pits, which is toxic to dogs. Cherries can be even more dangerous than peaches because the pits are much smaller, making dogs more likely to eat them. In addition to the toxic pits, cherry flesh can make their stomach upset.

Cherry flesh may not be poisonous food for dogs but their pits and stem are choking hazards and are toxic foods for dogs. It contains cyanide which may cause poisoning in dogs. Symptoms to look out for Vomiting and stomach upset are visible signs of cherry pit poisoning.

The purple spots are mostly on the base of the stem. The leaves smell bad when bruised with hairless leaf stalks and the flowers are white. Location: Common in disturbed soil but can grow almost anywhere and is found worldwide. Toxicity: Deadly poisonous. 10) Water Hemlock, Cicuta maculata, Parsley family. Also called cowbane and poison parsley.

Plants very poisonous to dogs. Keep your dog well away from these plants and flowers as some parts of these are very poisonous to dogs and can even be fatal: Astrantia. Clematis. Craspedia. Delphinium. Eucalyptus. Asparagus Fern.

Daffodil and other narcissus bulbs are toxic to dogs and cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. They can be fatal.

The leaves of the azaleas are highly toxic and eating a few can cause an immediate reaction. Azalea irritates the mouth and causes vomiting and diarrhea. Eating azalea leaves can kill your dog, so contact poison control or your vet to find out the steps you need to take if your pooch gets into this plant.
