It is said that a Sheepadoodle is easier to train than an Old English Sheepdog and quite possibly even easier than a Poodle. The hybrid dog is very intelligent and is also eager to please. Their calm nature makes them good listeners and their energy level is medium to high, which means that they will have enough spunk to carry through with what is asked of them to do.

Spaghetti and meatballs, PB and J, Old English Sheepdog blankets and pillows - one simply isnt the same without the other by its side. So, if youre thinking about getting a custom Old English Sheepdog blanket for yourself or another Old English Sheepdog lover in your life, dont forget to get a Old English Sheepdog pillow or two along with it!

Good choices are, just to mention a few: Royal Canin, Natures Variety, Taste of the Wild. We recommend feeding your puppy 4 times a day until 3 months of age, then 3 times a day until 6 months. From then on you can feed your puppy twice a day, and depending on your choice feed the dog 1 or 2 times a day from 1 year old.

Hold a snack in between your fingers and lift your hand just a bit higher than you would for the paw trick. Your Old English Sheepdog will presume you wish to do the paw trick and will grab the treat with his paw as we had taught him in the prior trick. Once he reaches up you say high 5 and offer your Old English Sheepdog the snack.

It is also said that the Old English Sheepdog started with the drovers of the 1800s, bred for their courage, steadiness, and stamina. They were needed to help the drovers steer sheep and cattle over long distances and to protect both the herds and flocks from the wolves. These furry giants also protected the drovers from the bulls and oxen. Although the Old English Sheepdog is still used as a herding dog in some areas, they are mostly found as companion pets or show dogs.

Personally, we adore the Old English Sheepdog with its unmistakable shaggy coat that covers even its lovely round eyes. We also love the elegance of the Poodle especially when groomed with its impressive hairdos complete with blue and red ribbons.

Choose premium foods that list good quality meats within the first few ingredients. At a bare-minimum, the first ingredient should always be an animal based protein source (chicken, turkey, salmon, duck, beef, etc).
