If the dog's general level of anxiety can be tamped down, the storm anxiety will very likely be more manageable. IF your dog is not normally anxious and only has a problem during storms, often vets prescribe a fast-acting tranquilizer like alprazolam to be given only when intense or prolonged storms are expected.
