A lot of people view tail docking as something that is unnecessarily cosmetic.

However, much like ear cropping, this modification is actually for the benefit of the dog.

Helps to avoid injury to the tail for a working Cane Corso.

Prevents problems with mangling the tail to compromise the dog's overall appearance.

  • Cane Corsos typically have their tails docked for the purpose of keeping them safe. Cane Corsos are known to be hostile and effective hunting dogs in general. When they are playing with other dogs, they have a propensity to bite other dogs in the tail.
