FAQ

Those who are looking for an answer to the question «Your dog is a boxer and she was bred with a boxer but her puppies have some of the characteristics of the hound she bred with last year why?» often ask the following questions:

👉 Can your boxer have puppies at 9months?

Yes but the puppies with probably be deformed or she will have a miscarriage

👉 Why were boxer dogs bred?

they were bred to hold prey for hunters until they arrived ,and they were also used as bullbaiting, and guard dogs because or their braveness.

👉 How many puppies does boxer have?

My Boxer had 10 puppies two weeks ago. it was her first litter, but that is uncommon. you should take her to the vet and have them do an ultra sound and an exray to count the puppies. The cost is nominal, but it is best to make sure you know how many there are, because a first time mommy can stop delivering with a baby still inside.

1 other answer

There are a variety of situations that would have caused this outcome.

  1. The female dog was unsupervised while in heat (this is a 3 week long process) and had a multiple sire litter. This is possible to have with dogs. They are still fertile after they are bred and so another dog could have bred with her.
  2. One or both are not an AKC Boxer. This is the only guarantee that they are pure boxer. They may look one way but a parent, grand or great parent may have well been a hound. So this will always contribute to the genetics of this dog(s).
